Mid-Ohio, June 29th - July 1st 2018

Hot, Humid, and lots of track time. That was the Mid-Ohio June 29 thru July 1 race weekend run by FRP. The schedule went off with very few glitches as FRP kept things moving. All the S2 drivers played nice and the racing was clean and fun.

The few incidents that did occur were of the single car variety. The two worst were John Thompson losing his breaks in the Keyhole during qualifying (his crew got him out for the race) and Brent Gernert having his nose disintegrate after hitting an exhaust pipe lying in the middle of the back straight – as he was leading Sunday’s race! Before Sunday’s late afternoon final race, the grid people thanked each driver for being there and hanging in until the end. A nice touch.
