Same Weather, Different Race

We really need to talk to VRG about not scheduling race weekends when there is 5 or 6 inches of rain in the forecast.

The Pittsburgh International VRG weekend ( Sept 7 thru Sept 9 ) started out cloudy and cool on Friday, but we did get practice, qualifying, and a short race in under reasonably dry conditions.

Saturday it rained all day and only 4 of the 9 S2's entered decided to run. Brent Gernert and John Thompson had a spirited race in the wet with Gernert taking the win.

Thompson finished second and Nate Scigliano third in S2. Steve Groh rounded out the group, first in HS2.

Sundays schedule was canceled due to the amount of rain in the forecast.

The expanded Pittsburgh track is a lot of fun. It has everything, fast straights, elevation changes and enough twisty bits to make a S2000 driver smile. The facilities are first class and the paddock is expansive. Good race track.
