Thunderbolt Circuit 7/26 - 7/28 2019

VRG’s New Jersey Historic at Thunderbolt Circuit consisted of three days of qualifying, qualifying races, and a Sunday’s S2000 feature. All of our sessions and races were for Sports 2000's only with a reasonable entry of 13 cars entered.

The weather wasn’t half bad for New Jersey in July ( at least it wasn’t 110 degrees and 100% humidity like last week )

A few cars had problems on Saturday with only 8 taking the checker flag. In S2 Brent Gernert passed pole sitter John Thompson early on, but by half way Thompson regained the lead for a 1.17 second margin of victory. Simon Green’s VS2 Shrike hun in with the S2's for a forth place over all and the win in VS2

Sunday saw John Thompson again on pole with Gernert second. On lap three Thompson pitted with a broken gear shift linkage. Gernert took the over all lead with Simon Green’s VS2 dogging him for all but the last three laps.

Both races had good runs all through the field with Roger Cassin in VS2 along with Robert Brady and seventeen year old Tray Dusek in HS2 having good runs.
