Pittrace, June 2021

The FRP Pitt Race was held June 18 thru the 20. FRP held their usual professional event with plenty of track time. Friday was dry, Saturday was mostly wet and Sunday was warm and dry.

Race 1 on Saturday started wet. Three of the top four qualifiers started on rain tires with Brent Gernert in his fathers Swift DB2 starting on slicks from second place. After dropping to third, Gernert worked his way up to first as the track went from wet to damp, taking the overall win and first in VS2.

Sundays Race 2 saw great weather, but a reduced grid, with John Thompson winning from wire to wire in his S2 Lola.

Saturday evening we managed to hold a VS2na social now that Covid restriction have been relaxed. The club handed out trophies to the winners and sponsor “goodies” to club members.
